About The Position

As a Security Officer Armed Patrol Specialist in Reading, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Hospitals, and more. Join Allied Universal as an armed Patrol Officer at a busy hospital location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, stay visible to help deter security-related incidents, and deliver outstanding customer service and communication. In this role, you will support daily operations with professionalism, reliability, and integrity while working as part of a caring, agile, and innovative team.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience is required.
  • Act 235 qualification is required in Pennsylvania only.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • A valid firearms permit is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and/or vendors while carrying out site-specific procedures, access control activities, and other security-related responsibilities at an industrial location.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, medical calls, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and supporting emergency response activities as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, production areas, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or unusual conditions.
  • Perform armed post duties in accordance with Allied Universal standards and site post orders, including maintaining professional firearm handling practices and reporting security-related concerns promptly.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and restricted areas, verify credentials and/or permissions, and communicate with site contacts, supervisors, and/or local responders when appropriate.
