About The Position

As a Security Officer - Armed Patrol Rounds in Manassas, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal at a government location as an armed officer supporting a patrol-focused post. You will conduct routine rounds, stay visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and assist with access control and visitor guidance. You will document observations, communicate clearly with staff and the public, and respond to concerns with professionalism. Requirements

  • Must have 1+ years' armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
  • Must have 1+ years of security-related experience.
  • Must have an armed guard card/license.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff and visitors at a government location by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Control access by monitoring entry and exit points, verifying identification and/or visitor authorization, and directing visitors to appropriate areas.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting site leadership and/or public emergency services as required.
  • Conduct regular and random foot patrols throughout interior areas, exterior grounds, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify maintenance or hazard concerns.
  • Complete required reports and logs, document incidents and unusual activity, and communicate key information during shift turnovers and/or as requested by site management.
