Requirements

  • Be a graduate of a law enforcement or military police training program or equivalent.
  • Possess a college degree.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Have at least 2 years of law enforcement, military, and/or corrections experience.
  • Possess a corrections officer license.
  • Possess a DD214 with honorable discharge or an associate degree or 60 college credits or a police academy certificate or a corrections academy certificate.
  • Possess a law enforcement officer license.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and members of the public by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting activity and communicating with site contacts and/or emergency services as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout assigned buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or suspicious behavior.
  • Monitor access points and verify credentials, permissions, and/or visitor information in accordance with site policies while reporting unusual conditions or security-related concerns.
  • Support order at the location by following post orders, observing surroundings, and providing visible presence during routine operations, special activities, and/or high-traffic periods.
