About The Position

As a Security Officer Armed Patrol in Reading, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare Facilities, and more. Join Allied Universal as an armed patrol officer at a Healthcare Facility, where you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, and help to deter security-related incidents through a visible presence. This role blends strong communication, customer service, and professionalism while supporting a caring, agile, and reliable team that puts people first and acts with integrity every day.

Requirements

  • Possess at least 1 year of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience.
  • Act 235 qualification is required for positions in Pennsylvania only.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • A valid firearms permit is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and/or vendors by carrying out site-specific procedures, access protocols, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at the location.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and sharing details with site contacts and/or first responders as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout buildings, production areas, parking areas, and perimeter points to help identify unusual activity and/or security-related concerns.
  • Monitor entry and exit activity, verify credentials and/or permissions, and help support restricted area access procedures based on site policy.
  • Support Allied Universal reporting requirements by preparing clear, timely incident records and communicating notable conditions, equipment issues, and/or policy concerns to supervisors.
