As a Security Officer Armed Patrol Guardian in Alexandria, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. In this government transit location, you will perform armed patrol duties, conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and assist riders and visitors with professionalism. Requirements

An armed guard card or license is required.
Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.
Customer service experience is preferred.
Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and/or passengers by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting concerns to site contacts and/or supervisors.
Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, platforms, parking areas, access points, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
Monitor entrances, exits, and public areas, verifying access permissions when required and providing directions or assistance in accordance with government location protocols.
Support transportation and facility operations by observing for suspicious behavior, unattended items, and/or operational issues, then communicating findings through proper reporting channels.
