About The Position

As a Security Officer - Armed Patrol Government Complex in Norfolk, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Requirements

  • Possess an Armed Guard Card or Armed Guard License.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and participating in emergency response activities as appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm and problem-solving manner, maintaining professionalism at all times.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the government location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activities.
  • Monitor and report any suspicious activity or security-related concerns to the appropriate personnel.
  • Maintain a visible presence to help to deter potential security-related incidents within the government environment.
  • Enforce access control procedures and verify credentials of individuals entering restricted areas as required.
  • Complete detailed and accurate reports regarding daily activities and any incidents that occur during the shift.
