About The Position

As a Security Officer - Armed Patrol Government Complex in Norfolk, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Requirements

Possess an Armed Guard Card or Armed Guard License.
Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and participating in emergency response activities as appropriate.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm and problem-solving manner, maintaining professionalism at all times.
Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the government location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activities.
Monitor and report any suspicious activity or security-related concerns to the appropriate personnel.
Maintain a visible presence to help to deter potential security-related incidents within the government environment.
Enforce access control procedures and verify credentials of individuals entering restricted areas as required.
Complete detailed and accurate reports regarding daily activities and any incidents that occur during the shift.
