About The Position

As a Security Officer - Armed Patrol Badge Control in Alexandria, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Requirements

At least 2 years of security-related experience is required.
An armed guard card or license is required.
Proof of high school diploma or GED is required by the client.
Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

Access control or badge experience is preferred.
Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and responding to emergency situations as appropriate.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, maintaining professionalism at all times.
Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or suspicious behavior.
Monitor for and report any unusual activity, security-related hazards, or potential threats within the government facility.
Interact with visitors, employees, and contractors in a courteous and professional manner while maintaining security-related protocols.
Handle access control by verifying credentials and granting entry to authorized personnel.
Support emergency response activities and assist law enforcement or emergency personnel as needed.
Maintain accurate records and logs of patrols, incidents, and other security-related activities as required by Allied Universal and site protocols.
