As an Armed Patrol Officer at a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, stay visible to help deter security-related incidents, and deliver strong customer service and communication to staff and visitors. This role requires an Armed Guard Card and/or license and offers a chance to bring Allied Universal values to life by staying agile, reliable, and innovative, supporting a caring culture, working as a team, and acting with integrity.

Requirements

  • An armed guard card and/or license is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to site employees and visitors by following post orders, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Conduct armed foot and/or vehicle patrols of buildings, grounds, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
  • Control access points by verifying identification, issuing visitor credentials, and directing foot and vehicle traffic in accordance with site procedures.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with site personnel and local public agencies as needed.
  • Complete required security-related documentation such as activity logs, incident reports, and equipment checks, and promptly communicate notable conditions to supervision.
