As an Armed Patrol Officer in a healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help reduce security-related incidents, and support staff, patients, and visitors with courteous service and clear communication. You will document observations using a computer and/or tablet as needed. Requirements

  • An armed guard card and/or license is required.
  • The client requires proof of a high school diploma and/or GED.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Comfortable using a computer and/or tablet is preferred.
  • Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
  • CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by following Allied Universal and site-specific security-related procedures, including access control and visitor management within a healthcare location.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, using de-escalation techniques and requesting additional assistance from site leadership and/or emergency responders as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, corridors, entrances, patient care areas as permitted, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify hazards or maintenance concerns.
  • Monitor cameras, doors, and key control when assigned, documenting irregular conditions and reporting policy concerns to the appropriate personnel.
  • Complete detailed reports and logs of patrols, incidents, and interactions, and assist with direction giving, escorts, and other security-related support services as assigned.
