About The Position

As a Security Officer - Armed Mobile Patrol in Fairfax, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer at a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, and stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will respond to situations with calm professionalism, communicate clearly with staff and visitors, and document observations using available systems. Backed by Allied Universal’s agile, reliable, and innovative team, you will put people first and act with integrity on every shift.

Requirements

• An armed guard card and/or license is required.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• CPR certification is preferred and may be completed post hire.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Baton certification is preferred and may be completed post hire.
• Being comfortable using a computer and/or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of the facility, surrounding grounds, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
• Monitor access points and controlled areas, verify identification and/or authorization as required, and direct individuals to the appropriate check-in process.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with site leadership and/or local law enforcement and/or emergency services partners as directed.
• Complete detailed incident reports, patrol logs, and other required documentation, and communicate observations and concerns to Allied Universal supervision and/or client contacts.
