Job Description As a Security Officer - Armed Institutional Facility Patrol in Morganton, NC , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer at a government location, you will conduct routine vehicle and foot patrols, remain highly visible to help deter security-related incidents, and respond to calls for service with clear communication and professionalism. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license. Requirements

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • An armed guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a government corrections location.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting actions taken and notifying appropriate personnel.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned interior and exterior areas, including perimeter and access points, with working environments and conditions varying by location.
  • Control entry and exit by verifying identification, screening authorized persons and/or vehicles as required by post orders, and helping to deter unauthorized access.
  • Maintain a high level of readiness by carrying assigned equipment per policy, completing required reports, and communicating clearly with site staff, dispatch, and/or responding public agencies.
