About The Position

As a Security Officer - Armed Full-Time Patrol Guard in Miami, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal as an armed patrol officer supporting a government location. You will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, remain highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and respond to situations with calm, clear communication. You will document activities, assist staff and visitors with professional customer service, and represent a team that is agile, reliable, innovative, and committed to integrity and teamwork.

Requirements

  • Provide proof of a high school diploma and/or GED.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Provide a DD214 with honorable discharge or an associates degree and/or 60 college credits or a police academy certificate or a corrections academy certificate.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
  • Experience with handcuffs, pepper spray, and/or baton is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients and the public by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation, summoning appropriate assistance, and documenting actions taken.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter points to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
  • Control access at designated points by verifying identification, screening visitors and contractors per post orders, and directing individuals to appropriate locations.
  • Complete daily activity logs, incident reports, and other required documentation, and communicate key observations to Allied Universal supervision and site representatives.
