As an Armed Access Control Officer with Allied Universal at a government location, you will manage entry points, verify credentials, screen visitors and vehicles, and document security-related activity. You will maintain a visible presence, respond to incidents, and communicate professionally with staff and the public. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license, where teamwork, integrity, and a people-first approach help deliver reliable service.

Requirements

  • Have 3+ years combined law enforcement, military, and/or security-related experience OR a college degree.
  • Possess an Armed Guard Card and/or license.
  • Client requires proof of high school diploma or GED.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Control access at entrances and restricted areas by checking identification, confirming authorization, issuing and collecting badges, and maintaining visitor and/or delivery logs.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating notifications and documenting actions taken per site procedures.
  • Monitor access control systems, alarms, and video surveillance for unusual activity and help to deter unauthorized entry by reporting concerns to the appropriate contacts.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, entrances, and perimeter to identify security-related concerns and report maintenance and/or policy issues.
