Requirements

An armed guard card or license is required.
Possess at least 6 months of armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
Be at least 21 years of age.
A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities within a government corrections-related location.
Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting security-related concerns to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
Conduct regular and random patrols throughout assigned buildings, grounds, housing areas, access points, and perimeter zones, remaining prepared to work in varying conditions and environments.
Monitor entry and exit activity, verify credentials and/or authorizations, and help to deter unauthorized access, contraband movement, and other policy violations.
Maintain assigned armed post equipment in accordance with post orders, follow use of force and reporting guidelines, and support orderly operations during escorts, transports, counts, and/or emergency situations.
