As an Armed Patrol Officer supporting a government corrections location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence that helps to deter security-related incidents, and respond to concerns with clear communication and strong customer service. This driving post requires a valid driver’s license under AU Driver Policy Requirements. Requirements

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to site staff, visitors, and/or contractors by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a government corrections location.
  • Carry and maintain assigned duty weapon and related equipment in accordance with Allied Universal policies, post orders, and applicable laws and/or licensing requirements.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including supporting staff with de-escalation and timely notification to appropriate public agencies as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of housing areas, administrative areas, and perimeter zones, documenting observations and reporting unusual activity, hazards, and/or policy violations.
  • Control entry and exit at designated access points, verify identification and authorization, screen for prohibited items as required by post orders, and complete accurate reports and logs.
