About The Position

The Armed Security Officer at AtlantiCare is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of patients, visitors, and staff by performing security operations in accordance with established policies and procedures. This role involves conducting weapons screenings, providing quality customer service, and effectively communicating with various stakeholders within the healthcare environment.

Requirements

• High School degree or equivalent required.
• Retired Law Enforcement Officer with a valid Retired Law Enforcement Officer Program (RPO) license required.
• Valid Armed Security Officer Registration Act (Armed SORA) license required.
• IAHSS Certified Healthcare Security Officer (CHSO) and Certified Advanced Healthcare Security Officer (CAHSO) certifications required within 6 months of employment.
• FEMA Certification: Incident Command System (ICS) required within 6 months from date of hire or transfer.
• CPI certification required within 6 months from date of hire or transfer.
• BLS certification required within 60 days from date of hire or transfer.
• Hazardous Materials Training required within 6 months from date of hire or transfer.
• Valid New Jersey Driver License required.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of PC's and related applications, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and security-related applications/programs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Sound judgment and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Perform security operations according to the AtlantiCare Security Department Security Management Plan and Standard Operating Procedures.
• Conduct weapons screening at fixed locations as per AtlantiCare Policy.
• Provide a secure environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
• Deliver quality customer service to all individuals on the premises.
• Communicate effectively with staff, management, patients, and visitors.
