About The Position

As a Security Officer - Armed Detention Perm Hospital in Land O Lakes, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Requirements

  • Possess a Corrections Officer License.
  • Possess a Law Enforcement Officer License.
  • Possess an Armed Guard Card/License is preferred.
  • Possess a Guard Card/License is preferred.
  • CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and contractors at a government location by following site-specific security-related procedures, access requirements, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, parking areas, and perimeter routes to help to deter unwanted activity and/or identify hazards or maintenance concerns.
  • Monitor entrances, gates, and restricted areas; verify identification, credentials, and/or authorizations; and document access as required by post orders.
  • Respond to alarms, incidents, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; request assistance from law enforcement and/or emergency services when needed.
  • Complete required reports and logs such as incident reports, patrol activity, and shift handoff notes, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.
