In this armed post, you will greet visitors, conduct screening and access control, monitor for unusual activity, and communicate clearly with staff and the public. You will document incidents, follow site procedures, and help to deter disruptions while delivering service with integrity through teamwork in a caring, agile environment.

Requirements

  • Have a minimum of 2+ years’ law enforcement, military police, and/or corrections experience.
  • Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
  • Be 21+ years of age.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors and staff by following site-specific, security-related procedures and access requirements at a government location entry point.
  • Screen individuals, bags, and deliveries using magnetometers, x-ray equipment, and/or manual inspection methods as permitted, and check identification and authorization credentials.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting appropriate site personnel and/or emergency services when needed.
  • Monitor entrance activity and surrounding areas for unusual conditions, help to deter prohibited items from entering, and maintain orderly queues and traffic flow.
  • Complete required logs and incident reports, document screening results when applicable, and communicate observations and/or concerns to site leadership and Allied Universal management.
