Requirements

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess three or more years of combined law enforcement, military, and/or security-related experience, or a college degree.
  • Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Possess a guard card.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and/or contractors by carrying out access control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Monitor entrances, credential checkpoints, and/or visitor logs to help control authorized access and report unusual activity, policy violations, and/or suspicious behavior.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with site contacts and/or public service personnel as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter, noting access points, restricted areas, and/or conditions that may require attention.
  • Assist with screening visitors, verifying identification and/or credentials, issuing temporary passes when required, and providing directions related to security-related procedures.
