As an Allied Universal Officer at a residential community access control post, you will greet residents and visitors, verify credentials, manage entry and exit logs, and stay visible while conducting routine patrols to help identify and help to deter security-related incidents. This is an armed, driving post, so you will respond with professionalism while operating within post orders. Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • At least 1 year of armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military experience is required.
  • At least 1 year of law enforcement experience is required or at least 2 years of security supervisor and/or manager experience is required or at least 3 years of security-related experience is required.
  • An armed guard card and/or license is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to residents, guests, and vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, community policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Manage access control at community entry points by greeting visitors, verifying authorization, issuing visitor instructions and/or passes as directed, and documenting entry and exit activity.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting emergency services and/or notifying site management as required.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of residential common areas, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
  • Complete timely written reports and logs, communicate observations to site representatives and/or supervisors, and assist with routine administrative tasks related to access control.
