About The Position

As a Security Officer Armed Area Patrol in Miami, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Armed Security Officer at a government transit location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help reduce security-related incidents, and support riders, visitors, and staff through professional communication and service. Requirements

Have 3+ years of combined law enforcement, military, and/or security-related experience or a college degree.
Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
Be at least 21 years of age.
Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Handcuffing certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to visitors, passengers, and personnel by carrying out site-specific procedures, access control activities, and appropriate emergency response actions at a government transit location.
Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting security-related concerns to the appropriate contacts.
Conduct regular and random patrols throughout transit platforms, stations, parking areas, facilities, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
Monitor entrances, restricted areas, and public spaces while maintaining an armed presence in accordance with post orders, applicable regulations, and Allied Universal standards.
Assist with de-escalation, crowd management, and interaction with the public and/or staff during routine operations, service disruptions, and emergency situations.
Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
