Job Description As a Security Officer - Armed Access Control in Deland, FL , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an armed officer, you will greet employees and visitors, verify credentials, manage entry points, monitor activity, and document incidents while maintaining a calm, professional presence. You will stay visible to help reduce unwanted activity, communicate clearly with staff and visitors, and contribute to a culture built on integrity, teamwork, and a people-first approach.

Requirements

• Have 3+ years of combined law enforcement, military, and/or security-related experience or a college degree.
• Have 1+ year of armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
• Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
• Be 21+ years of age.
• Ability to lift up to 20 lbs is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients and visitors by following site-specific procedures, access control policies, and/or emergency response activities at a government location.
• Control entry and exit at designated access points by checking identification, verifying authorization, issuing temporary credentials when directed, and maintaining visitor and delivery logs.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including notifying appropriate personnel and documenting actions taken.
• Monitor security-related systems and activity, such as cameras, alarms, radios, and access control panels, and report unusual conditions per post orders.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of interior areas, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter as assigned; working environments and conditions may vary by site.
