As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a residential location, you will conduct routine foot and/or vehicle patrols, remain highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and respond to resident concerns with strong communication and customer service. You will document observations, report issues, and support property staff and local responders as needed. Requirements

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to residents, visitors, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following post orders and escalation guidelines.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of residential streets, common areas, amenities, and perimeter points; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
  • Monitor access points and community entry areas as assigned, verifying authorization and directing traffic flow and visitor routing as needed.
  • Complete detailed activity logs, incident reports, and patrol documentation in a timely manner using required systems and/or paper forms.
  • Observe and report suspicious activity, hazards, and/or maintenance issues to appropriate parties to help to deter unwanted activity and support property operations.
  • Communicate with residents, property staff, and/or emergency services as needed, providing clear updates and coordinating response actions.
  • Support community rules and policies through courteous presence, verbal de-escalation, and reporting when violations are observed.
  • Perform security-related checks of doors, gates, and common-area spaces during patrols, reporting unsecured conditions and/or damage.
  • Use company-issued equipment such as radios, flashlights, and mobile devices in accordance with Allied Universal guidelines and site procedures.
