About The Position

As a Security Officer - After-Hours Foot Patrol in New York, NY , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Shelter, and more. Requirements

• Possess a New York State Security Guard License.
• Have 1+ years of security-related experience.
• Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
• Be 21+ years of age.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

• X-ray screening experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to residents, staff, and visitors by following Allied Universal procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random foot patrols throughout the shelter, including common areas, entrances, and exterior perimeter, with working conditions varying by location.
• Monitor access points, observe for unusual activity, and help to deter unauthorized entry and/or prohibited behavior in accordance with site rules.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation, notifying site leadership and/or emergency services, and documenting actions taken.
• Complete security-related reports, incident documentation, and shift activity logs, and communicate pertinent information during shift turnover.
