As an Access Control Officer at a leading tech and telecom location, you will help manage entry points, verify credentials, track visitors, and support a smooth check-in process using computer and/or tablet systems. You will conduct routine patrols of assigned areas, remain visible to help discourage security-related incidents, and respond to concerns with calm, customer-focused communication. Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 years of security-related experience is required.
  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Loss prevention experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service at a tech and/or telecom location by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Control access to the facility by screening visitors and contractors, verifying identification and authorization, issuing temporary badges, and directing arrivals to designated check-in areas.
  • Monitor access control systems, cameras, and alarm notifications; document activity in logs and/or reports and escalate unusual conditions per post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting site leadership and/or emergency services as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of entrances, loading areas, and perimeter points to help to deter unauthorized entry and/or policy violations, noting hazards and maintenance issues for follow-up.
