As a Security Officer Access Verification in West Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. Join Allied Universal at a fast-paced logistics and distribution location, where you will help manage access control, verify badges and credentials, monitor assigned areas, and conduct routine patrols. In this customer-focused role, you will remain visible to help deter security-related incidents while delivering professional communication and service. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, drivers, vendors, and/or employees by following site-specific access control procedures and security-related policies at the location.
  • Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials, log arrivals and departures, and/or help control access to authorized areas across the distribution and shipping location.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting site leadership or emergency services when appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter to help identify unusual activity, support security-related protocols, and report conditions needing attention.
  • Support shipping and receiving operations by observing trailer, package, and/or vehicle movement, documenting relevant activity, and communicating access-related concerns to the appropriate contacts.
