As an Access Control Officer at an aero and defense location, you will help manage entry points, verify credentials, welcome visitors, and document activity using a computer or tablet. You will also conduct routine patrols and maintain a visible presence that can help to deter security-related incidents, while communicating clearly with employees and guests. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred and may be completed post hire.
  • A guard card and/or security license is preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer and/or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to site personnel and visitors by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an aerospace and defense location.
  • Operate an access control post by checking identification, verifying authorization, issuing visitor credentials, and controlling entry and exit through gates, lobbies, and/or screening points.
  • Monitor alarms, cameras, radios, and access control systems; document activity, complete logs, and promptly report unusual conditions per post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating notifications and actions with site contacts and/or public responders as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas including building entrances, production and office areas, and perimeter routes as required by the location; working environments and conditions may vary by site.
