Security Officer - Access Gate Unarmed
About The Position
As a Security Officer - Access Gate Monitor in Texas City, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. Join Allied Universal at a chemical and petrochemical location supporting access control operations. As a Security Officer, you will greet employees and visitors, verify credentials, manage entry and exit points, and monitor activity to help to deter security-related incidents. You will conduct routine patrols, stay visible, document observations, and communicate clearly with site teams and first responders. Bring integrity, teamwork, and a people-first approach to every interaction.
Requirements
- Possess a TSA issued TWIC.
- A guard card and/or security-related license is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to client representatives, employees, contractors, and visitors by following site-specific procedures and security-related policies at a chemical and/or petrochemical location.
- Control access at gates and/or entry points by verifying identification, issuing visitor credentials, managing sign-in and/or sign-out logs, and directing traffic to approved areas.
- Conduct vehicle and/or delivery screening as required, including verifying shipping paperwork, checking for authorization, and documenting entries and exits per post orders.
- Respond to alarms, incidents, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including notifying appropriate personnel and supporting emergency response activities when appropriate.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, including buildings, yards, and perimeter points, while documenting observations and reporting unusual conditions that may help to deter unauthorized activity.
