About The Position

As a Security Officer - Access Desk Reception in Jackson, MS, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Food/Beverage, and more. Join Allied Universal at a fast-paced food and beverage distribution location where you will help manage access control by checking credentials, issuing badges, and greeting employees, drivers, and visitors with professional customer service. You will monitor entrances, conduct routine patrols of assigned areas, document security-related activity, and communicate clearly with site leaders. Bring an agile, reliable mindset, support your team, and act with integrity every shift.

Requirements

• Have 1+ years of security experience.
• Ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.
• Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, vendors, and drivers by following site-specific security-related procedures at entrances, gates, and receiving areas.
• Control access to the location by verifying identification, visitor authorizations, badges, and/or delivery documentation, and maintaining accurate entry and exit logs.
• Monitor cameras, alarms, and access control systems, report irregular activity, and help to deter unauthorized entry into production, warehouse, and loading dock areas.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including following emergency response activities and communicating with site leadership and/or emergency services as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of interior and exterior areas, including parking lots, perimeter, and dock zones, with working environments and conditions that may vary by location.
