As a Security Officer Access Control Part Time in Bradenton, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in industries such as Government. This part-time role offers flexibility to build a schedule that works for you using the Claim a Shift platform. As an Access Control Officer at a government location, you will monitor entry points, verify credentials, and support orderly access for residents, visitors, and staff. You will remain visible, respond to security-related concerns, and provide outstanding customer service and communication. This role emphasizes teamwork, reliability, and integrity, helping to create a welcoming environment while supporting daily operations.

Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to residents, visitors, contractors, and staff by carrying out access control procedures, site-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Monitor entry and exit points, verify identification and authorization, document visitor and vendor activity, and help to deter unauthorized access through consistent security-related screening practices.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and unusual activity in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate with site contacts, emergency services, and/or Allied Universal leadership as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around buildings, access points, and perimeter areas to observe conditions, report concerns, and support security-related operations.
  • Complete required reports, logs, and incident documentation related to access control activity, patrol observations, and/or customer service interactions.
