As an Access Control Officer at a fast-paced logistics and distribution location, you will help manage entry and exit points, verify credentials, and support visitor and driver check-in. You will conduct routine patrols and stay visible to help deter security-related incidents, while delivering clear communication and customer service. Requirements

  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet preferred.
  • X-Ray screening experience preferred.
  • Customer service experience preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to employees, drivers, vendors and visitors by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a high-volume logistics and distribution location.
  • Control access at entry and exit points by verifying identification, authorizations and delivery documentation, issuing temporary credentials when required and maintaining visitor and vehicle logs.
  • Screen and/or inspect incoming and outgoing vehicles, trailers and packages as directed by post orders, helping to deter unauthorized removal of property and/or entry to restricted areas.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, completing timely notifications and written reports per site requirements.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of docks, yard areas, parking areas and perimeter to identify irregular conditions, hazards and/or policy concerns and report findings to site leadership.
