Requirements

  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Requires a valid State of Michigan Drivers License for at least 1 year
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, staff, clergy, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a cultural institution location.
  • Monitor entrances and exits, verify credentials and/or visitor authorization, manage access points, and help to deter unauthorized entry in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate relevant information to site contacts and/or first responders as needed.
  • Maintain logs and reports related to visitor activity, deliveries, access requests, and unusual incidents, following Allied Universal standards and location procedures.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter, observing for suspicious activity, unsecured areas, and conditions that may require a security-related response.
