Security Officer - Access Control
About The Position
As a Security Officer Access Control in Danville, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Access Control Officer at a busy logistics and distribution location, where you will monitor entry points, verify credentials, and support a professional environment for employees, visitors, and deliveries. You will remain visible to help discourage security-related incidents while delivering outstanding customer service and communication. Requirements
- A state, county, and/or city issued security-related license is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, access control protocols, and/or emergency response activities appropriate to the location.
- Monitor entry and exit points for employees, visitors, vendors, and/or delivery drivers, verifying credentials, processing check-ins, and maintaining accurate access records.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting relevant details and communicating with site contacts as needed.
- Conduct regular and random patrols around the facility, yard, loading areas, and perimeter, helping to deter unauthorized access and unusual activity in a logistics and distribution environment.
- Assist with vehicle and trailer access activities, including directing traffic flow at controlled points and confirming authorized movement in accordance with site policies.
