As an Unarmed Patrol Officer in a healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help reduce security-related incidents, and support staff, patients, and visitors with courteous service. You will check doors and access points, observe for unusual activity, document findings, and communicate clearly with your team. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred and may be completed post hire.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • CPR certification is preferred and may be completed post hire.

Responsibilities

  • Assist hospital staff when needed
  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by following Allied Universal procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of interior areas, exterior grounds, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical-related disturbances, visitor issues, and facility alarms, and/or escalating to the appropriate on-site personnel or emergency services.
  • Control access points by monitoring entries and exits, verifying authorization as required, and assisting with visitor direction and basic check-in processes in support of security-related protocols.
  • Document patrols, incidents, and observations in written reports and/or electronic systems, and communicate relevant information to site leadership and Allied Universal management.
