As an Allied Universal Access Control Officer at a commercial real estate location, you will help support a welcoming environment by managing visitor entry, verifying credentials, and monitoring access points throughout the day. You will conduct routine rounds, stay visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and communicate clearly with tenants, guests, and on-site teams. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, contractors and/or employees by carrying out Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Operate access control points for a commercial property, including verifying identification, managing visitor registration, issuing temporary credentials and directing guests to approved destinations.
  • Monitor and control entry and exit through doors, turnstiles and/or vehicle gates, helping to prevent unauthorized access and reporting irregular activity.
  • Perform key control and credential accountability tasks, including logging issue and return activity per site procedures.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating to site management and/or public emergency services as needed.
  • Complete security-related reports, access logs and incident documentation with clear, accurate details.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business interior, common areas, loading areas, parking areas and perimeter as assigned. Working environments and conditions may vary by location.
  • Monitor cameras, alarms and other building systems as assigned, and communicate observed concerns to appropriate parties.
  • Provide directions, basic building information and assistance while maintaining a professional presence at access control posts.
  • Participate in post orders briefings and follow site-specific protocols for deliveries, contractor check-in and restricted-area access.
