About The Position

As a Security Officer - Access Control Specialist in Durham, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Commercial Real Estate, and more. Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

Alarm panel experience is preferred.
Access control or badge experience is preferred.
Customer service experience is preferred.
Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

Monitor and control access to the location, verifying credentials and authorizations for entry.
Assist visitors and employees by providing directions and information regarding access procedures.
Enforce site-specific policies and procedures related to access control and security-related matters.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized access and report any irregularities.
Document and report all incidents, observations, and activities as required by Allied Universal and client protocols.
Collaborate with property management and/or emergency personnel during incidents or drills.
Maintain a professional presence and provide customer service to all individuals at the location.
