About The Position

As a Security Officer - Access Control Operator in Greensboro, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an Allied Universal Officer at a busy logistics and distribution location, you will manage access control at entry points, greet visitors and drivers, and verify credentials while documenting activity in a computer or tablet system. You will conduct routine patrols and maintain a visible presence that helps to deter security-related incidents. Bring strong customer service and communication to a team that is agile, reliable, innovative, and guided by integrity.

Requirements

• Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients and visitors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
• Control access at entrances and exit points by checking identification, issuing visitor credentials, and directing drivers and guests to the appropriate areas.
• Monitor inbound and outbound traffic at gates and dock areas, verify delivery and pickup information, and report irregularities per site procedures.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including notifying site contacts and/or emergency services as directed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and document observations.
