About The Position

As a Security Officer - Access Control Logistics in Fredericksburg, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal, you will help to deter security-related incidents by monitoring access points and performing badge checks at a busy logistics and distribution location. Your responsibilities will include conducting routine patrols, maintaining a visible presence, and utilizing technology such as computers or tablets to manage entry and exit. Exceptional customer service and clear communication are key, as you contribute to a supportive environment where teamwork and integrity are valued every day.

Requirements

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Experience with access control and badge systems is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and control access to the location, verifying identification and credentials of individuals entering or exiting designated areas.
  • Assist with enforcing site-specific policies and procedures related to access control.
  • Provide customer service by greeting visitors, answering questions, and directing individuals as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized access or suspicious activity.
  • Document and report any security-related incidents, irregularities, or breaches observed during shifts.
  • Collaborate with Allied Universal management and site personnel to maintain a secure environment at the logistics and distribution location.
