Security Officer - Access Control Gate
About The Position
As a Security Officer - Access Control Gate in Rye, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Residential, and more. As an Allied Universal Security Officer in a residential location, you will support access control by greeting residents and visitors, verifying credentials, managing entry points, and documenting activity. You will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, and stay visible to help reduce security-related incidents while communicating clearly with residents, staff, and responding personnel. Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

- Customer service experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to residents, visitors, and staff by following access control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Monitor and manage entry and exit points at a residential location, including checking identification, issuing visitor passes, and maintaining visitor and delivery logs.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting emergency services and/or site leadership as directed.
- Operate access control systems such as key control, intercoms, radios, and surveillance tools, and report maintenance issues or irregular conditions through the proper channels.
- Complete routine security-related documentation including shift activity reports, incident reports, and communications to management per post orders.
