Security Officer - Access Control Desk
About The Position
As a Security Officer - Access Control Desk in Peekskill, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. As an Allied Universal Access Control Officer at a chemical and petrochemical location, you will help manage site entry by checking credentials, issuing badges, and guiding visitors and contractors. You will monitor cameras and alarms, complete reports, and perform routine patrols to help identify unusual activity and help to deter incidents. Bring clear communication and customer service to every interaction while supporting an agile, reliable, innovative team that acts with integrity.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to clients by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a chemical and/or petrochemical location.
- Control access at gates and/or entry points by checking identification, validating badges, processing visitors and contractors, and maintaining required entry documentation.
- Monitor alarms, cameras, and access control systems; report unusual activity and escalate concerns per site procedures.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with site leadership and/or first responders as directed.
- Conduct regular and random patrols around buildings, production-adjacent areas, parking lots, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized access and/or suspicious activity.
