Job Description As a Security Officer - Academic Site Patrol in Philadelphia, PA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer at a dynamic education location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, helping to deter security-related incidents while remaining highly visible throughout the campus. You will provide outstanding customer service, assist with access control, and communicate professionally with students, staff, and visitors. Requirements

Be at least 21 years of age.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

Ability to ride a bike for long periods of time is preferred.
Access control or badge experience is preferred.
Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within the education environment.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, supporting a secure atmosphere for students, staff, and visitors.
Conduct regular and random patrols around the campus and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
Observe and report any unusual activity or security-related concerns to the appropriate personnel in a timely manner.
Maintain a visible presence throughout the location to help to deter potential issues and provide assistance as needed.
Follow all Allied Universal and site-specific protocols while interacting with the campus community and visitors.
