Security Officer 1
About The Position
The Security Officer I is responsible for maintaining a safe, pleasant, and customer service-friendly environment at Tampa General Hospital facilities. This role involves enforcing hospital policy, documenting security incidents, conducting traffic control, and assisting patients and visitors with minor vehicle issues. Key duties also include ensuring infant and newborn unit security, participating in various incident responses and facility lockdown events, and managing patient valuables. Officers will perform physical security rounds at local TGH facilities, respond to emergency codes, provide a security presence in the Level I trauma center, and assist in applying restraints to violent or dangerous patients when necessary. All duties must align with the mission, vision, and values of Tampa General Hospital.
Requirements
- Current Florida driver license
- Must obtain Florida Security license (Class "D") within six months of hire
- Must obtain de-escalation certification (MOAB, CPI, etc.) within six months of hire
- Must obtain Basic Life Saving (CPR/AED) within six months of hire
- Must obtain Basic International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) certification within one year of hire
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or G.E.D preferred

- Perform job duties in accordance with the mission, vision, and values of Tampa General Hospital
