About The Position

The Security / Office Specialist provides direct support to the local Assistant Facility Security Officer (AFSO) while also performing key office management and administrative functions for the corporate headquarters in Suffolk, VA. This role is primarily focused on assisting with day-to-day security operations of a Top Secret-cleared facility, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations (including the NISPOM), and supporting overall office operations to maintain an efficient and professional work environment. Under the guidance of the Corporate FSO, the Security / Office Specialist will play a critical supporting role in executing security processes, maintaining records, and coordinating administrative activities across the office.

Requirements

  • Active Secret clearance.
  • 2+ years of experience in a Government contractor environment.
  • Familiarity with security systems such as DISS/NBIS, NISS, SWFT, ACCS, and Fieldprint.
  • Working knowledge of personnel security processes and clearance lifecycle.
  • Strong organizational, administrative, and multitasking skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting an FSO or AFSO in a cleared facility environment.
  • Experience working within a SCIF.
  • Familiarity with SCI access request processes.
  • Working knowledge of DD Form 254 development and subcontractor pass-down requirements.
  • Experience supporting DCSA audits, self-inspections, and compliance reviews.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • FSO certification or training.
  • Familiarity with DoD Manuals and Intelligence Community Directives (ICDs).
  • Experience with COMSEC procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day support to the local AFSO in administering the facility security program.
  • Assist in implementing and maintaining compliance with applicable security regulations, including NISPOM and DoD requirements.
  • Support personnel security processes, including clearance tracking, visit requests, onboarding, and reinvestigations.
  • Maintain security records and systems (e.g., DISS/NBIS, NISS, SWFT, ACCS, Fieldprint).
  • Assist in preparation and submission of required security documentation (e.g., DD Form 254, SF-312).
  • Support security self-inspections, audits, and Government reviews (e.g., DCSA assessments).
  • Help monitor and report security incidents and assist with preliminary documentation and follow-up actions.
  • Coordinate with program teams to support contract-specific security requirements, including classified access and SCI nomination processes.
  • Assist with physical security measures, including access control, visitor processing, and facility procedures.
  • Maintain working knowledge of applicable security policies and procedures.
  • Perform daily office administrative functions to ensure smooth operations.
  • Manage office supplies, inventory, and equipment, coordinate ordering and restocking.
  • Serve as the front office point of contact, including greeting visitors and handling inquiries.
  • Coordinate incoming and outgoing correspondence and communications.
  • Support scheduling, meeting coordination, and general office logistics.
  • Assist with facility coordination, including maintenance requests and vendor interactions.
  • Maintain organized records and files (electronic and physical).
  • Provide general administrative support to leadership and staff as needed.
