We’re hiring a Security Manager to Live. Work. Explore. at the South Rim of the Grand Canyon! Job Summary: To supervise security for Xanterra South Rim properties and to provide safety and security to guests/employees. This position will be required to conduct internal and external classes around investigation, safety and security. The Details: Position Type: Full-Time, Year-Round Pay: $57,304 per year Schedule: May include weekends, evenings, and holidays. Requirements

  • Must be at least twenty-one years of age at time of hire.
  • Previous supervisory experience required.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and problem-solving skills; plus, ability to interact effectively with guests, employees and other designated officials.
  • Ability to calmly deal with medical, fire, security or safety situations.
  • Working knowledge of radio communications.
  • Must possess a valid Arizona Driver’s License and comply with the Xanterra South Rim Company Vehicle Policy.
  • AHLEI Lodging and Security Officer Certification (CLSO) must be obtained within thirty days of hire (provided by Xanterra).
  • AHLEI Lodging and Security Supervisor (CLSS) must be obtained within six months of the hire date (provided by Xanterra).
  • AHLEI Lodging and Security (CLSD) must be obtained within 24 months of day hire (provide by Xanterra)
  • Required to obtain BAT and Urinalysis Train the trainer certification (provided by Xanterra).
  • Required to obtain Intructor Guard Card from the state of Arizona.
  • Certified Forensic Interviewer (CFI) from WZ – must be obtained within 14 months of hire date.
  • Required to obtain CPR/AED/First Aid Certification within 30 days of hire.
  • Required to obtain FEMA certification IS100C and IS-700.b – within 2 days of hire.
  • Required to obtain OSHA 30 certification within 5 months of hire date.
  • Physical Requirements include: Constantly: N/A Frequently: Stand, walk, sit, lift/carry up to 20lbs. Occasionally: Handle, reach, climb, crawl, squat/kneel, bend, lift/carry up to 100lbs, push/pull up to 100lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and advise the shift patrols.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of safety, emergency and security procedures.
  • Support and have role under NIMS Emergency protocols.
  • Assist National Park Service Law Enforcement and/or Fire Control Departments on scene and follow instructions/directives given by scene commander.
  • Maintain a professional working relationship with National Park Service Law Enforcement and Fire Control Departments.
  • Resolve situations within your control and within guidelines established by Risk Management, Security Department, and National Park Service Law Enforcement.
  • Respond to security calls.
  • Deploy safety and security officer to escort accounting personnel on cash runs and deposit runs, providing security escort service to the accounting personnel.
  • Coordinate the scheduling of the Security Officers.
  • Provide training for the security officers as needed
  • Conduct Safety property wide training as needed.
  • Adhere to all safety, Risk Management and environmental policies.
  • Ordering and control of Security uniforms and other department supplies.
  • Conduct annual performance reviews of employees.
  • Conduct quarterly safety inspections.
  • Coordinate all levels of building/fire/security inspections with appropriate personnel.
  • Manage and Maintain CCTV – per PCI compliance.
  • Manage and maintain Security Alarms, including troubleshooting and scheduling vendor as needed.
  • Develop and maintain a property patrol system.
  • Maintain required reports and documentation.
  • Review officers’ security reports and make recommendations.
  • Support Human Resources in employee investigations, as needed.
  • Support the Retail Department in inventory count and shrink.
  • Participate as members of the safety committee.
  • Will be required to work variable shifts including overnight as assigned by Risk Director/Battalion Chief.
  • Other duties as assigned.
