This role will assure the smooth operation of the department’s functions in Abbeville, liaison with executive leadership, departmental managers, and community leaders, particularly law enforcement and key partners. This position will assist the Chief Security Officer with the security needs for all remote locations both treatment plants and sawmills. This position will assist the Chief Security Officer with executive protection. This position requires exceptional verbal and written communication skills and the ability to relate to the Great Southern culture. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (Other duties may be assigned) Remain in continual communication with the Chief Security Officer to assure security and risk mitigation issues are being addressed efficiently. Daily coordinates with the Security Agent Lead and Assistant Project Manager on the status of every ongoing project to assure that they are progressing efficiently and to stay abreast of action items. Effectively and professionally interact with GSWP teammates, vendors, and other outside partners concerning security and risk mitigation issues. Assist the Chief Security Officer in developing short-and long-range plans for the overall direction of the security and risk mitigation effort for GSWP and related parties. Assist the Chief Security Officer with budget and financial responsibilities. Assist the Chief Security Officer in overseeing the work of the Security/Risk Mitigation Department. When the Chief Security Officer is unavailable, assume the work and mission of the Chief Security Officer to assure efficient and effective functioning of the department and assure the needs of the company are met. Other duties as assigned to assist the Chief Security Officer in the execution of his/her responsibilities. Supervisory Responsibilities: This position is a supervisory position and acts with the same authority as the Chief Security Officer but must assure that there is not competitive or conflicting direction for subordinates and with GSWP leadership. Competency: To perform the job successfully, an individual should be able to: Have demonstrated a strength in handling issues and managing personnel and projects. Have demonstrated experience in executive protection. Have demonstrated experience in criminal investigations and protective intelligence/threat assessment work. Have demonstrated experience in physical security assessments. Have demonstrated the ability to use discretion and adhere to the highest levels of confidentiality. Have demonstrated the ability to work in collaboration with others for a common goal. Be able to read and interpret written and oral instruction. Deliver written and oral instruction in a professional, coherent, and easily understood manner. Demonstrate attention to detail, accuracy, and thoroughness in all administrative responsibilities and tasks. Follow instruction and direction from the Chief Security Officer and other GSWP leadership in a positive and professional manner. The basic competency involving computers and other technical equipment. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, homeland security, private security, public administration, business, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferable. The position requires a minimum of seven to ten years of related work with noted leadership experience. Including policy and procedural development, administration, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The position requires time management, attention to detail, and prioritization skills. An ideal candidate will possess honesty, integrity, and loyalty. Confidentiality is paramount.
