About The Position

Security Manager - Wiregrass Ranch Hospital (Opening April 2026) Location: Wiregrass Ranch Hospital - Wesley Chapel, FL Start Date: December 2025 Schedule: Full-time, leadership role Job Summary Orlando Health is seeking an experienced and people-focused Security Manager to lead the Security Department at our brand-new Wiregrass Ranch Hospital, scheduled to open in April 2026. This role begins in December 2025 and will include structured training at Orlando Health facilities in Orlando, St. Petersburg, and other campuses to ensure full preparation before the hospital opens. The Security Manager will oversee a team of 15+ direct reports and will play a critical role in creating a culture of safety, service, and teamwork from the ground up. The ideal candidate is a positive, service-oriented leader who motivates staff while ensuring a safe environment for patients, visitors, and team members.

Requirements

Must meet one of the following: Bachelor's degree in security management, criminal justice, public safety, homeland security, or related field, or Associate degree and five (5) years of experience in a security related field, to include supervisory experience, or Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in a security related field, to include supervisory experience.
Valid Florida driver's license with no more than six (6) points, at least 21 years of age, and insurable under Orlando Health's insurance standards.
Ability to obtain applicable IAHSS certifications.
Five (5) years of Law Enforcement, U.S. Military Service, or Security experience, including three (3) years in a supervisory role, OR A total of eight (8) years of security-related experience, including supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage a team of 15+ Security staff, including recruitment, scheduling, training, coaching, and performance evaluations.
Develop and implement departmental policies, procedures, goals, and objectives aligned with Orlando Health standards.
Provide strong, positive leadership focused on people, safety, and excellent customer service.
Partner with senior leadership to establish and implement strategies for crime prevention, access control, and emergency preparedness.
Conduct investigations, manage disciplinary actions, and take corrective action when necessary.
Ensure all employee certifications, licensure, and training are documented and current.
Prepare and monitor the departmental budget.
Oversee process improvement initiatives and serve as liaison with the Process Improvement Team.
Supervise Police Officers assigned to the Emergency Department (if applicable).
Maintain compliance with all Orlando Health policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
Represent the Security Department in leadership meetings and serve as acting leader in the absence of the Sr. Director of Security.
Participate in structured training across multiple Orlando Health campuses before Wiregrass Ranch Hospital opens.
Travel between Orlando Health facilities as required.
Support financial goals and consistently achieve departmental Critical Success Factors.
Stay current with evolving technology related to crime prevention, access control, and CCTV.
Demonstrate the highest degree of trust, discretion, and integrity.
Maximize customer satisfaction through strong communication and service.
Perform other duties as assigned.
