About The Position

Under the direction of the Director of Security, the incumbent is responsible for the daily operation of the Security Department activities and staff.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Three (3) years of Security Management experience in a high-volume casino/hotel complex environment or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to obtain a gaming license.
  • Must have solid planning, time management, decision-making, organization, and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced multi-tasking, hands-on environment.
  • Ability to establish and maintain a positive and professional working relationship with all individuals.
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook, and hotel systems.
  • Ability to work overtime, irregular hours and occasionally travel.

Responsibilities

  • Exhibit conduct in accordance with all Illinois Gaming Board (IGB) Rules and Regulations, Federal and State laws and regulations, and Company and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Perform the duties and responsibilities associated with the IGB Statewide Voluntary Self-Exclusion Program as described in Section A of this ICS.
  • Consistently deliver positive, courteous, and professional guest service in all interactions with guests, visitors, vendors, and fellow employees.
  • Responsible for providing efficient policing of premises, maintaining desired public order, providing comfort and safety to patrons, employees, and protecting company assets.
  • Oversee and direct day-to-day operations of the Security Department such as: Key control Securing buildings and grounds Administrating First Aid Accident procedures and reports Proper handling and removing undesirable visitors Appearance of Security Officers and Supervisors Performance of Security Officers and Supervisors Composure and best customer/employee service practices
  • Maintain adequate staffing levels in Security by interviewing, scheduling, evaluating, training, and counseling Security staff.
  • Monitor the Security supervisory and officer staff to ensure departmental goals and objectives are met, to include adherence to regulatory guidelines, company policies and procedures and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for maintaining and coverage of radios.
  • Responsible for keeping accurate inventory records regarding uniforms, security accessories, safety equipment/supplies, and Lost and Found process.
  • Administer and participate in evaluations and corrective action involving Security staff.
  • Work cooperatively and effectively with Surveillance and all casino personnel and supervisory staff.
  • Conduct investigations, write reports, and gather evidence in accordance with established standard procedures.
  • Must be able to read and understand lengthy, complex regulatory documents.
  • Patrol the property frequently, interacting with security officers, other staff, and guests.
  • Identify and correct potential security and/or safety hazards to ensure the safety and protection of guests, employees, and the entire facility.
  • Recruit, select, train, coach, counsel, recognize and retain direct reports who consistently perform actions and behaviors that reinforce excellence in business operations and guest service.
  • Stay abreast of current trends and practices within area of responsibility and communicate pertinent information to management, peers, direct reports, and employees as appropriate.
  • Promote positive public/employee relations at all times.
  • Perform any duties on or off-site involving guest services and quality control including, but not limited to, special events, guest giveaways, crowd control, property cleanliness, and other hospitality functions as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, hazard-free work environment within area of responsibility.
  • Safeguard the confidential information of all employees, department, and company records.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to ensuring responsible gaming and responsible alcohol service by discreetly notifying appropriate management of concerns and observations.
  • Ensure prompt and discrete notification to senior management and/or the Ethics Hotline of any observation of illegal acts and/or internal ethics violations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
