About The Position

The Pavilion at Star Lake is seeking a dedicated and experienced Manager – Venue Security to oversee all security operations to ensure safety and security of guests, employees, artists, and property, while maintaining a customer-focused approach. This role requires excellent people skills, a proactive mindset, and a thorough understanding and adherence to security protocols and licensing requirements as set forth by Live Nation and the State of Pennsylvania.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (college coursework or degree a plus).
  • At least 2 years of experience in a security management role, preferable in a live entertainment or venue environment.
  • Working knowledge of security and safety operations and enforcement procedures in business and event setting.
  • Experience in managing a team of 60 or more people.
  • Ability to exercise composure and de-escalate stressful situations.
  • Strong strategic thinking and creative problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • High level of judgment, tact, and diplomacy.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and execute programs effectively.
  • Position requires constant walking, climbing stairs, lifting and carrying 50 lbs.+ and occasional sitting.

Responsibilities

  • Policy Compliance: Collaborate with the General Manager and Operations Manager to ensure adherence to all security policies, procedures, and applicable local, state, and federal laws.
  • Access Control: Monitor and authorize the entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other individuals to prevent theft and maintain venue security.
  • Venue Surveillance: Regularly patrol all areas of the venue to observe, report, and address any irregularities or potential security concerns.
  • Incident Management: Investigate and resolve security-related complaints, interacting positively with guests to ensure satisfactory outcomes.
  • Reporting: Document daily activities and incidents, including equipment or property damage, theft, unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.
  • Staff Management: Recruit, train, supervise, and discipline security personnel to ensure efficient department operations.
  • Budget & Cost Control: Manage security-related expenses by adhering to the department budget, optimizing resources, and ensuring staffing levels align with operational needs while controlling overtime and unnecessary costs.
  • Team Collaboration: Conduct regular meetings to communicate pertinent information and provide guidance to staff.
  • Policy Development: Continuously evaluate and recommend improvements to security policies and procedures.
  • Sustainability Participation: Engage in the venue’s sustainability initiatives, such as waste prevention and recycling efforts, and educate guests about these programs.
  • Event Support: Assist in post-event activities, including the collection of recyclables and proper storage of event equipment.
