The Security Officer/Security Guard is responsible for observing and reporting activities and incidents at the Glass City Center and after hours at the Huntington Center. The role requires constant alertness and logging of occurrences during shifts. The officer will also handle incoming customer phone calls, report hazardous conditions, and ensure desk coverage until a replacement arrives. The position involves using company policies to resolve customer issues, inputting data into the company computer platform, and maintaining effective communication with staff, customers, and visitors. The officer must also manage physical demands such as frequent sitting, standing, walking, and occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds. Additional responsibilities include keeping the Safety and Security Manager informed of daily activities, maintaining operational and security equipment, and completing required FEMA courses within the first 30 days of hire.

  • Observe and report activities and incidents at the Glass City Center and Huntington Center.
  • Answer incoming customer phone calls and take appropriate action.
  • Report hazardous conditions or emergency situations to management.
  • Provide desk coverage until replacement arrives.
  • Use company policies to resolve customer issues or escalate to management.
  • Input data into the company computer platform to update customer records.
  • Maintain effective communication with staff, customers, and visitors.
  • Represent the facility in communicating building policies regarding safety and security.
  • Understand directions and respond to inquiries effectively.
  • Keep the Safety and Security Manager informed of day-to-day activities.
  • Responsible for cleaning, minor maintenance, and proper storage of operational and security equipment.
  • Complete FEMA Courses ICS-100 and ICS-700 within 30 days of hire.
  • Good knowledge of command centers, fire alarm panels, surveillance tools, and event security equipment.
  • Ability to verbally communicate with the general public, clients, co-workers, and management.
  • Possess written communication skills and some computer skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to work with management, employees, clients, and the public.
  • Ability to work from CAD drawings and event checklists.
  • Ability to make quick decisions regarding safety and security.
  • Experience in event production and handling event equipment.
  • Evening, weekend, and holiday work opportunities.
