About The Position

This position is for a Security Guard within the Federal service, specifically in locations such as Inscription House, AZ, Red Mesa, AZ, Tsaile, AZ, Crownpoint, NM, and Shiprock, NM. The role requires candidates to demonstrate sufficient experience and/or education to perform the duties associated with the position. Experience can include both paid and unpaid work, including volunteer service through National Service programs. Candidates must clearly outline their duties and responsibilities in their resumes, including the total number of hours worked per week. The competition for this position is restricted to individuals entitled to veterans' preference, provided they are available for appointment. Specialized experience is required for positions at GS-4 and above, which includes work with protective organizations and knowledge of protective systems and techniques.

Requirements

• Six (6) months of general experience.
• Six (6) months of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service.
• Education: 2 years above high school or equivalent experience.
• Completion of training in physical security procedures, local laws, or investigative techniques is considered qualifying.

Responsibilities

• Enforce security rules and regulations.
• Follow facility restraint policy.
• Escort patients as needed.
• Direct visitors to the appropriate department.
